We spill the tea of our third trip to Japan with Toxsam and Cynnx

Greetings everyone!

We recently embarked on a thrilling business trip to Japan from September 16th to 26th, and we’re excited to share our journey with you. This was no ordinary trip; it was a convergence of business engagements, cultural exploration, and networking opportunities that left a lasting impact.

Preparations and arrival

Before we set off on this adventure, meticulous preparations were in order. Our primary goal was to showcase our newest game, Yeti Rush, at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS).

This was our third trip to Japan, and we were eager to meet familiar faces and forge new connections.

DCENTRAL Web3 insights

Our journey began with the DCENTRAL Web3 event, where we attended fascinating talks about the industry. It was here that we were introduced to the vibrant Tokyo metaverse scene and also connected with professionals from the US, Australia, and South Korea.

These interactions provided a glimpse into the global reach of the Web3 ecosystem and the diverse perspectives it encompasses.

Spain Matsuri and cultural connections

One standout event was the Spain Matsuri, organized by the Spanish embassy to promote video games made by Spanish studios. As a Spanish game studio, we participated and had the opportunity to present Yeti Rush.

This event not only showcased our work but also introduced us to individuals from Yodo1 and Line, fostering valuable connections.

Tokyo Game Show 2023, an extravaganza

The Tokyo Game Show, held on September 21st and 22nd, exceeded our expectations. It was a colossal gathering of game development companies from Japan and around the world. The sheer scale of the event was awe-inspiring.

Our presence at TGS was further elevated by our booth at TGS VR, where we presented Yeti Rush in virtual reality. This event drew a staggering one million visitors in the VR world.

During our time at TGS, we had the pleasure of meeting with representatives from Line, Dentsu, Ambr, Roblox, PICO, Geekout, and numerous individual developers.

Immersive tech showcase and Tokyo networking night

Amid the hustle and bustle of TGS, the Immersive Tech Showcase: Tokyo Networking Night offered an opportunity to delve deeper into emerging technologies. This event provided insights into the future of tech, further enriching our understanding of the industry landscape.

Meetings and collaborations

One of the most exciting aspects of this trip was the series of meetings with industry professionals and companies. These discussions held immense potential. We met with Yoheii from VirtualCast, who is the representative director of the VRM Consortium.

We discussed the global appeal of the VRM Consortium website, aiming to bridge the gap between Japanese stylization and international accessibility.

Yunnie from Line, who works on the NFT marketplace, engaged in fruitful discussions about our previous projects with Line and the development of a new line of products for the NFT marketplace.

Our meeting with Takako from Metaani revolved around advancing our joint project, Metaani x Polygonal Mind, to create a new series of Metaani avatars.

Adrian from Upstreet joined us for extensive discussions on integrating our products with Upstreet, a partnership that promises exciting developments.

Cultural immersion and gastronomic delights

Beyond business engagements, we explored hidden gems known only to the locals, gaining insight into Japanese culture. One aspect of Japan that never fails to amaze us is its culinary delights.

Kobe beef, in particular, left an indelible impression. While we may not be seafood enthusiasts, our taste buds were treated to an array of mouthwatering dishes.

This business trip to Japan was more than just a series of events and meetings; it was an odyssey filled with discovery, growth, and the promise of a vibrant future. We look forward to sharing our progress with you as we embark on this exciting journey.
